1/ Seed Source:                           2/ % mktbl yld = based on once over harvest ( 8/7/02).  All fruit
1- Abbott & Cobb                                striped from vines consequently excessive of
2- d. Palmer                                          undersized fruits culled.
3- Hazera                    3/ Percentages /grade based only on  percent of the total marketable
4- Hollar                                                    fruits harvested.
5- Petoseed/Seminis     4/ Check entry
6- Rogers/Syngenta
7- Shamrock                               Note = The predominant cull class was undersized fruit due to once over
8- Willhite                                 harvest.  Consequently, this resulted in the harvest of immature
fruit and maybe a reflection of a late maturing variety.

Culture:    Replicated (4) randomized block design with 10 plants / rep.
Transplant established (5/16/02) using a water wheel transplanter
Triploid and diploid entries intermixed.
Grown with drip irrigation and black plastic mulch
Herbicides= Dual Magnum 1 pt/A in strips between mulch on May 24  & 1.5 pt/A Fusilade on May 30
Fertilizer: 300 lb/A 16-20-0 preplant; Sidedressed 30 lbs N on June 13 and 10; and July 2.
4 hives honeybees

Problems:                A thunderstorm producing 3 “ precipitation 2 days after transplanting washed much of the soil from the edges of the plastic mulch, and several thunderstorms over the next few days produced windsin excess of 50 mph. Long strips of plastic mulch were stripped from the beds, and a number of plants were pulled or injured. Consequently plants stands varied across plots.
