Peperomia, Emerald Ripple


Scientific name: Peperomia caperata

Description: Evergreen succulent plants with heart-shaped, dark green leaves. The leaves grow up to 1 1/2 inches long and have a corrugated surface. Leafstalks are red or pink; white flower spikes of varying lengths may be produced throughout summer and fall. Normal height is not above 10 inches.

Light: Bright, sunless exposure. Variegated varieties like a few hours of sunshine every day.

Temperature: Normal room temperature

Methods of propagation: Leaf and tip cuttings

Comment: Peperomias make nice accent plants for tables, bookshelves, etc.
