Caladium


Scientific name: Caladium sp.

Description: Tuberous-rooted plants grown for their ornamental leaves averaging 12 to 15 inches long on a similar-length stalk. Color can be all white with just the faintest tinge of green along the veins; or the leaves can be spotted, veined, blotched or marbled red, pink or white on green.

Light: Bright, indirect light

Temperature: A temperature of at least 65 – 75 degrees F

Methods of propagation: Small tubers can be detached from the parent and potted when growth starts.

Comment: Plants require high humidity. Keep pots on trays of moist pebbles and mist foliage daily.
