Reiger Begonia


Scientific name: Begonia hiemalis

Description: A winter-flowering tuberous begonia with red stems up to 18 inches tall. The glossy, round, deep green leaves are 3 inches across. The single-layered, bright red flowers are 2-2 1/2 inches wide with a prominent yellow center.

Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light

Temperature: Cool to normal room temperatures during active growing period

Methods of propagation: Can be propagated from tip cuttings, but is a difficult process in the home

Comment: A beautiful plant, ideal for indoor living areas.
