Scientific name: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis
Description: Multi-branching shrubs that can grow 6 feet or more unless drastically pruned. Dark green, glossy foliage varies in size and texture. Funnel-shaped flowers are 4-8 inches wide, single or double, in white, pink, red, yellow, orange or apricot.
Light: Bright light with some direct sunlight daily
Temperature: Normal room temperature during active growth period; temperatures around 55 degrees F during winter rest.
Methods of propagation: Use 3- to 4-inch-long tip cuttings in spring.
Comment: Excellent indoor varieties available.
