Scientific name: Crocus species

Description: Small (4-5 inches), winter-flowering plants grown from small corms. The slender, grooved leaves are dark green striped with white. The cup-shaped flowers may be purple, mauve, white, bronze, yellow or striped with two colors.

Light: Bright, indirect light

Temperature: Cool room temperatures

Methods of propagation: Bulblets

Comment: Crocus are an excellent spring flowering plant. Pot varieties are not well adapted for use in the garden. Discard after flowers have faded.
