Symptoms:
Nitrogen-deficient plants are yellow and stunted, with the symptoms expressed on the older leaves first. In severe cases, leaves eventually turn brown and die. Fruit may be misshapen and few in number.

Control:
Conduct soil and/or foliar nutrient analysis to confirm that the problem is nutritional. Follow recommended practices for fertility using a balanced fertilizer and treat for alkalinity or acidity as needed.
