2020 Inside Austin Gardens Tour
On May 16, 2020, the Travis County Master Gardeners will again host the Inside Austin Gardens Tour. This year’s tour will feature six diverse and interesting gardens located in and around Austin, including two at the homes of Master Gardeners.
These gardens will provide a variety of learning opportunities, including drought/deluge-tolerant, Earth-Kind® landscaping and butterfly, herb, vegetable, and succulent gardening. One of our gardens hosts honey bees, while another is home to two adorable miniature donkeys, as well as a flock of feisty hens! The always-evolving Travis County Demonstration Garden, a free stop on the tour, features a shade garden, an extensive herb garden, vegetables, a composting area, rose garden, and rainwater collection system.
Our “For Gardeners, By Gardeners” tour will open the imagination of visitors to what is possible using time-tested native and adapted plants, a little creativity, and a resilient love of gardening. All of the garden owners and plenty of knowledgeable volunteer Master Gardeners will be present in each garden to answer questions and offer advice on gardening in Central Texas. Join us for the 14th year of one of Austin’s most rewarding garden tours! Come again to see how we garden for ourselves and take away ideas for new projects of your own!
