Richard L. Duble
Professor and Extension Turfgrass Specialist, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX 77843
Dick Duble received his B.S. and M.S. in Agronomy from Texas A&M University in 1962 and 1965, respectively. He also received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M in Plant and Soil Science in 1967. Dr. Duble joined the A&M in September of 1967 and has been located on the College Station campus since 1970. He is currently Professor and Extension Turfgrass Specialist.
Dr. Duble has also received many honors and awards. In 1992, he received the A.W. Crain Diamond Award and in 1982 he received the Distinguished Service Award. Both awards were given by the Texas Turfgrass Association. He also was honored in 1989 by the Texas Cooperative Extension with the Superior Service Award and in 1985 by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America with the Excellence in Communication Award.

Established campaign and raised funds to support two $150,000 endowed graduate fellowships in Soil & Crop Sciences at Texas A&M University (1985)
Developed a certification program and study manual sponsored by the Texas Turfgrass Association to recognize qualified professional turfgrass managers in Texas (1987)
Participated in Capital Campaign at Texas A&M University to raise 15 million dollars to support the Texas A&M golf course and the turfgrass research and education program (1994-Present)
