Soft Rot

Symptoms:
Soft rot begins as small watersoaked lesions and rapidly causes a soft, mushy decay of the entire fruit.

Control:
Avoid wounding of fruit during harvest and subsequent handling. Chlorinated dips in packing sheds are beneficial. Cool fruit as soon as possible after harvest.
