FILES
The Departmental Coordinators' office maintains a file on each student. This file will usually contain such materials as your grade reports, record of transfer credits, change of major, probation terms, degree plan, degree audit, course substitution requests, etc. You can review your file and have copies made of documents in your files, but the file must remain in the coordinators' office. It is a confidential file. A copy is made for advisors, but only of the files of their advisees. We request that students provide a resume for their file and a picture, since these files are kept by the department and could be helpful to faculty who may be requested to write letters of recommendation for you in the future.
You should keep your own file for your future reference. It should contain such documents as your transfer credits, degree plan, resume, etc. It should also contain a schedule of the courses that you plan to take and the semester in which you plan to take them. See Appendix A for a copy of the form "Planning Your Course of Study".
