UNDERGRADUATE COORDINATORS

(Dr. Joe Novak, Undergraduate Coordinator; Mrs. Annie Wurzbach, Coordinator of Student Information; Room 204, Horticulture/Forest Sciences Bldg., Phone 845-3915 and 845-5343)

The undergraduate coordinator oversees the department's undergraduate programs. All students enrolling in the department for the first time are advised by the undergraduate coordinator. He will help plan your first schedule and evaluate transfer credits for use within the degree programs of the department.

The undergraduate coordinator assigns students to faculty advisors. To be assigned a faculty advisor you should fill out the form for assignment to an advisor and make an appointment to see the coordinator. When possible these assignments are made based on the student's career goals and the areas of expertise of the various faculty advisors. If you feel that you would like to change advisors for any reason, for example, you have changed your career goals and feel that you would be better advised by another faculty member, fill out the change of advisor request form and discuss the situation with the undergraduate coordinator.

As undergraduate coordinator, I maintain an open door policy. If you are having problems and need help, please feel free to come in and see me. If you have suggestions for improving our program, or just want to chat, please feel free to stop by my office. When possible, call in advance to see if I am in or have another appointment scheduled at the time.

If you need assistance from any of the many agencies around campus and are not sure how to proceed to get assistance with a problem, please call or come in and either I or Mrs. Wurzbach will try to give you assistance and suggest campus agencies that may help you.
