Transferring Files to the Server Find the file(s) you wish to transfer to the remote host (webtutor.tamu.edu). The left window in the WS_FTP program is titled "Local System" or "Local Host." Note: if using Fetch (Macintosh), the local host directory structure is visible once you click "Put File," otherwise the window shows only the remote host.
Click on image to view full screen.Once you find the file(s) on your computer (left window), click once on that file to highlight it; select/create the directory on the remote system (right window) into which you wish to transfer the file(s).
WS_FTP will automatically put you into your "root directory" when you log on. You may note that the remote system window is labeled as:
E:\Netscape\SuiteSpot\docs\webtutor\students\yourname
The corresponding Web address for your folder is:
http://webtutor.tamu.edu/students/yourname/To change directories in WS_FTP, double click on the directory. To go up a directory level, double-click on the up arrow symbol. To make a new directory, click on the MkDir button and type in the appropriate name. Your root directory should contain directories labeled quiz1, quiz2, and project.
