  • On Thursday, Nov 5, Sharon Duray will give a lecture on weed control. Check out the website http://wric.ucdavis.edu/links.html UC Cooperative Extension Website on weed information & control. It is also on the Hort 431 Nursery Website under the “Specific Weeds” link. It is a great website for weed control information. Other weed, pest and pathogen diagnosis links can be found at the Hort 431 website: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/syllabi/431/links.html

  • CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!! You need to be working on your projects (which is worth 25% of your total course grade). As you all know, there are nursery catalogs and other references in HFSB 401 that can be signed for and checked out, and old samples of wholesale and retail nursery projects for you to review; these are in available in Dr. He’s office (HFSB 415), but are not to be taken from his office.

  • Keep in mind that I want 1,2 and 3 year financial projections in your projects (cash flow)—which is what would be expected if you were applying for a SBA loan.

[Projections: Provide a projection of future operations for at least three years or until positive cash flow can be shown. Include earnings, expenses, and reasoning for these estimates. The projections should be in profit & loss format. Explain assumptions used if different from trend or industry standards and support your projected figures with clear, documentable explanations.]

  • There is no Lab this week – so use the time to work on your projects.

    .

    Have a Great Week!
