The Holistic Garden

The Holistic Garden is a garden designed so that anyone who wants to garden can do so, regardless of physical ability. It is also designed so that it works together with the natural ecosystem of which it is a part. The garden is used extensively in the teaching programs of the Horticultural Sciences Department.

The Holistic Garden at Texas A&M University consists of several smaller garden areas:
The Warren and Margaret Barham Texas Heritage Garden; Kitchen Garden; Enabling Garden; Sensory Garden; Discovery Garden Trail; Wetland Garden; Rainforest Garden; Fruit and Vegetable Research/Demonstration Gardens; Cutflower Garden; and Herb Garden. Other features of the Holistic Garden include the Compost Facility, Wildlife Habitat and Holistic Garden Greenhouse.
