The Holistic Garden is a garden designed so that anyone who wants to garden can do so, regardless of physical ability. It is also designed so that it works together with the natural ecosystem of which it is a part. The garden is used extensively in the teaching programs of the Horticultural Sciences Department.
The Holistic Garden at Texas A&M University
consists of several smaller garden areas:
The Warren and Margaret Barham Texas
Heritage Garden; Kitchen Garden; Enabling Garden; Sensory Garden; Discovery
Garden Trail; Wetland Garden; Rainforest Garden; Fruit and Vegetable
Research/Demonstration Gardens; Cutflower Garden; and Herb Garden. Other
features of the Holistic Garden include the Compost Facility, Wildlife Habitat
and Holistic Garden Greenhouse.
