Community Gardens

Community Gardens are gardens that are planned and maintained by an organized group. Participants often include persons who do not have space to garden where they live, have too much shade in their yards or who simply like to garden as part of a group.

The program in community gardens helps interested groups learn how to start a community garden, obtain the resources and land needed to make the garden successful, develop a layout for the land that is to be used, establish a set of rules and guidelines for the garden, troubleshoot problems that develop in a community garden and tackle other issues in that would help a community garden be successful.
