Protecting Intellectual Property
"Intellectual property" is an attribute associated with an organism, a process, a piece of equipment, a written work, a logo, etc. that gives added value to that object or process. This added value may be in the form of enhanced consumer recognition, an assurance of genetic worth, the ability to predict a certain type of environmental reaction, or just the added value associated with having exclusive rights to use or manufacture a device. Intellectual property may be protected in several different forms.

Read the descriptions of the various types of patents, trademarks, copyrights, etc. on the attached pages with special attention to how they impact horticultural commodities.
