INTRODUCTION:

Few parts of the landscape command as much attention as turf.  These can be the most costly areas to maintain in terms of time and money spent and there are alternative ways of producing turf.  But no landscape seems complete without its area of turf for aesthetics and functional purposes.

OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of this exercise are to learn the major types of warm season turf and to learn how to plant and maintain turf areas in the landscape.

ACTIVITY:

Compare the types of turf  and turf management systems in the Holistic Garden, on campus near the garden and in the home landscape that will be visited on the field trip.
