INTRODUCTION:

Two common techniques for topiary are a) to use a shrub and train it to a shape, often using wire, wood or metal for a pattern and for support and b) to use a vine and train it to a form or frame for support.

OBJECTIVES:

To train a shrub into a wreath or other form designed by the student using both pruning and training techniques.

ACTIVITY:

Make a topiary using the shrub technique with rosemary or the vine technique with creeping fig.
