Seedy characters are made by placing grass seeds and peatlite mix in a nylon mesh tube and shaping it into a character shape. This is a great rainy day activity when working with children in garden-related projects. Since the seedy characters begin to grow noticeable hair within a week, it is also well suited for programs where contact with the audience will be over a short period of time.
