INTRODUCTION:

Herbs can be grown in any part of the garden and are often included in the vegetable and flower gardens in the landscape, but it is also common to grow herbs in a special garden, especially the culinary herbs. Many herbs are well adapted to container cultivation.

OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of this lab activity are to identify common culinary herbs, to propagate and produce herbs in an herb garden, to plant and herb bucket and to discuss utilization of the herbs.

ACTIVITY:
  • Propagate common culinary herbs from seeds.
  • Propagate a few herbs from cuttings.
  • When the plants are ready, plant an herb bucket of culinary herbs.
  • Label the herbs in the herb bucket for future use.
