TexRoyal


Developed by Texas A&M University in 1990 as a variety that maintains good fruit quality and yield after a mild winter.  Texroyal crops well and has good shape and color. Firmness is somewhat marginal and may start to break down on the suture.  First-ripe fruit are semi-free while later fruit are freestone, making it the first freestone to ripen in the Medium Chill Region.

   Chill Req.:  650 C.U.,  Ripe: -40 D.B.E. ( about 6/05 in Central Texas).  Zones: 4-6
