RioGrande

Released by Peaches of Florida in 1969.  RioGrande is used primarily as a semi-freestone
variety for u-pick orchards because fruit quality is not good enough for grocery store
markets. RioGrande flavor and size is good but firmness, color, and shape are marginal.
It should not be grown much north of zone 5 and not in areas where Bacterial Leaf Spot is
a problem.

   Chill Req.:  450 C.U.,  Ripe: -35 D.B.E. ( about 6/10 in Central Texas)
Zones: 5-6
