Junegold

Released by Armstrong Nursery in California in 1958.  Junegold has been a standard variety throughout the southeastern U.S. because of its large size and good firmness. Problems with high-percentage split pits and poor shape have caused it to fade in popularity lately.  Cropping and shape are greatly reduced in a low-chill year.
