Hawthorne
Released by Louisiana State University. Hawthorne is becoming a popular variety for Medium Chill Region growers that want to extend harvest to the July 4th season. Fruit size can be impressive (over 3") in this late-season freestone. Firmness and color are also good. Cropping can be light though after a mild winter, and it therefore should not be planted south of zone 5.
