Conference Overview
The Texas Pepper Foundation was organized in 1976 with over 300 members from 25 different states and several countries including Mexico and Canada.  Members include research and extension scientist, growers, producers, seed and chemical industry and major food processing firms.  The purpose of the conference is to recognize the importance of peppers (chile, chilli) as the number one spice ingredient in the world.  It also supports one of the last major public assisted pepper improvement projects in the United States. 

Registration will begin at 4:00 pm on Wednesday November 7 in the conference hotel and will be followed by a welcome reception at 6:00 p.m.  Formal conference sessions (oral and poster) will begin 8:00 am on Thursday November 8, followed by our traditional evening CHILE FIESTA.  Friday morning activities will include observations of greenhouse and field demonstration trial plots of diverse and improved pepper genotypes.

Demonstration Trial
Interested seed companies and university breeders can enter pepper varieties in a demonstration trial that will be part of the tour on Friday November 9.  For more information regarding participation in the demonstration trials contact Dr. Kevin Crosby at: k-crosby@tamu.edu or (956) 968-5581.  The deadline for seed entry submissions is July 1, 2007.

Call for Papers
This is a call for titles for both presentations and posters.  Deadline for electronic submission of a ½ page abstract (microsoft word in Times Roman 12 pt font) is no later than October 1, 2007.  These abstracts will be in the Proceedings and available at the conference.  Contact Dr. Juan R.
