In our area, Rust (Phragmidium) is generally not a problem. This is due to the fact that it needs relatively cool temperatures (65-70F) and high humidity. Even though we have the humidity, the temperature rarely stays in the fungiís optimum temperature range for the required period. Rust is identified by orange spots on the underside of the leaf. In severe cases, Rust will cause leaf loss.
