Symptoms:
Sowbugs (really crustaceans, not insects) are small and gray and are covered with a segmented plate-like shell. They have 7 pairs of legs. Some types roll up into a ball when disturbed. Sowbugs are largely a nuisance, rarely causing any problem in a production setting, but occasionally causing some root damage in the home garden and in greenhouses.
Control:
Consult the Vegetable IPM Web Site for recommended controls of this pest.
