Highly ornamental clumps of fine, silvery, fernlike leaves densely covered with silky hairs grow in clumps. Nodding, bell-shaped to flat-spreading flowers emerge before all of the basal foliage is up. When blooms are finished, they become very showy, feathery seed heads that rise above foliage and flowers.
