Foliage and flowers in 2003 were not nearly as vigorous.
| Edelweiss Leontopodium alpinum Asteraceae Narrow, linear, tomentose leaves grow in clumps 1-4 inches long. Unbranching stems have smaller, gray-green wooly leaves and end in compact cymes of small yellow flowers. Wooly bracts surrounding the flowers look like petals.
