| Common Bleeding Heart Dicentra spectabilis Fumariaceae A "perennial favorite," D. spectabilis is the most popular of all of the Dicentra species. Delicate green lobed leaves develop racemes of heart-shaped flowers that droop gracefully above the foliage. If they know the secret, children (and adults) sometimes pull these flowers apart to find floral versions of a pair of earrings, slippers and a champagne bottle.
