An easy-spreading, long-blooming plant that needs its space when planted in the right spot. Sessile, opposite gray-green lanceolate leaves give way to terminal cymes of small, deep pink flowers that bloom from June through August in Ithaca.

Additional Comments: Short-lived, but easily reseeds itself. Propagate via seed or division in fall for truest color. Likes infertile soil. Needs water only in drought. Cut back old blooms to encourage new ones. Fairly indestructable in the Northeast. Pairs nicely with Siberian iris, Peony, and Lavender.
