Plants and Families Studied

The following plants and plant families are ones you will be exposed to during this course. Families and plants marked with a (*) will be covered in depth and will form the basis for lecture and lab exams. We have included many members of the common families so that you may expand and develop an appropriate concept of the family as we progress through the course. Use the other families as a way to develop concepts of the Subclasses. The families and subclasses are arranged in accordance with the text, "Flowering Plants of the World" by V. H. Heywood.
