The Relationship Between Gardening and Nutritional Attitudes and Behaviors in Older Adults

Summary: The major goal of this study is to explore the relationship between gardening and the nutritional attitudes and behaviors of the elderly. The objectives of the research include: 1) To investigate the relationship between gardening and nutritional attitudes and behaviors in the elderly. 2) To evaluate the effect of garden variables such as size and type of garden on this relationship. 3) To evaluate the effect of nutrition education programs on this relationship. 4) To evaluate the effect of demographics such as ethnicity, gender, economic level, and place of residence on this relationship.
Individuals over the age of 65 will be contacted through mail and asked to respond to a questionnaire and complete a food record.
