Harvest

Most vegetables are grown as annuals. They are divided into two groups: cool season crops and warm season crops. The edible portion of a cool season crop is a vegetative part of the plant (bulb, tuber, root, leaf, shoot, etc.). The edible portion of a warm season crop is the reproductive part of the plant (flower buds, flowers, fruits, seeds).

Plants should be propagated at intervals to allow for a spread of harvest timing. This is to ensure that plants can be harvested as needed instead of in one mass harvest.
