News...
Happy
New Year!
Were looking forward to an exciting line-up of spring activities
here at the garden. We encourage you to participate in any or
all of the following:
Lecture
Series:
Our Spring Lecture Series (see pages 4-6 for details) kicks-off
on February 8th with Dr. Sam Cotner discussing Vegetable Gardening
in the Brazos Valley. Sam literally wrote the book
on vegetable gardening in Texas so you wont want to miss
this outstanding educational opportunity.
Spring
Plant Sale:
Speaking of outstanding opportunities, be sure to mark your calendar
for our annual Spring Plant Sale to be held on April 9th. This
is your chance to purchase those hard to find plants, specifically
adapted to our area. Remember Friends of the Garden members
receive access to the special preview session before we open the
gates to the general public.
Garden
Gala:
April will be a busy month here and we also want to encourage
you to participate in our annual Spring Garden Gala to be held
on April 23rd (details on page 7). This major fund raiser will
feature food, entertainment, door prizes, and more. Help Keep
the Garden Growing by participating in this years Gala event!
NEW Plants
from the Garden:
Beginning in this months issue of the Landscape and Gardening
Journal our regular Plant of the Month section will change to
Plants from the Garden. We will focus on plant selections (growing
here at the TAMY Horticultural Gardens) that have unique characteristics
for the Brazos Valley. Well also provide planting and maintenance
tips on how to make these plants thrive in your landscape.
Were
geared up for an exciting spring season and look forward to seeing
you at the garden!

Texas A&M University Horticultural Gardens
