The Texas A&M University Horticultural Gardens are pleased to host educational programs for the TAMU Women's Club Garden Interest Group (GIG). All meetings begin here at the Garden. There is ample parking and GIG will have coffee and snacks before all meetings and road trips.

How Does Anything Grow in This Place? .
Dr. Doug Welch, Extension horticulturist and radio talk show star, will answer your fall gardening questions.

October 19, 2004 - 9:30 am
The Holistic Gardens
Dr. Joe Novak, Senior Lecturer,
We'll car pool from the Hort Gardens and Dr. Novak will give a guided tour of these unique
gardens.

November 16, 2004 - 9:30 am
Holiday Decorating Tips
We'll car pool from the Hort Gardens to Martha's Bloomers where we'll hear from Ms Trisha
Barksdale, florist, followed by lunch at Café M. Bloomers

January 18, 2005 - 10:00 am
Growing Orchids - Yes, you can!
Dr. Dan Chadbourne, owner of La Selva Nursery will talk about these extraordinary & beautiful
plants. Meeting at the Hort Gardens.

February 15, 2005 - 10:00 am
The Spring Garden
Cynthia Mueller, gardener extrodinaire will share useful tips for preparing gardens for the spring. Meeting at the Hort Gardens.

March, 2005 - Date and Time to be announced
The River Oaks Garden Club Azalea Trail
We'll car pool from the Hort Gardens on a day trip to Houston to view spring flowers
March 29, 2005 - 10:00 am
Texas Superstars-Plants that Sizzle
Mr.Garry McDonald, Research Associate, will talk about plants that can survive, and thrive in the Texas summer heat. Joint program with TAMU Newcomers

April 19, 2005 - 10:00 am
Gardens We Love
We'll car pool from the Hort Gardens to tour several members' gardens followed by a picnic
lunch.
