Spider Mites are getting fat and happy right now.  Remove severely infested plants.  Then spray containing kelthane on the remaining plants.  Orthene can also be used on most nonfood plants such as annuals, shrubs, etc.

Stop watering your figs and mulch around the base. Replenish mulch in the vegetable garden.  Carrots prefer a loose, sandy soil.

Got a wisteria plant that’s shy about blooming?  Root prune plants with a sharp shooter about 18 to 24 inches out from the trunk in a circular pattern.

For children, plant a mix of carrots, radishes and lettuce seeds.  At least one will be producing throughout the winter.  Each will loosen the soil in preparation for the next one to harvest.

Plant spring wildflowers like Texas bluebells and bluebonnets from seed.  Locate the bulk wildflower seed companies to get a quick delivery in time for planting.
