Cassava

While driving to another destination, we noticed a field of cassava being harvested and stopped to observe. The cassava plants are harvested when about 2 meters tall. The main stems are cut into 20 cm long sections and dipped in fungicide. These are then used as cuttings for propagating the next crop. The plants may be pulled manually or mechanically to harvest the roots.
