George Ray McEachern received his B.S. and M.S. in Horticulture from Louisiana State University in 1967 and 1969, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in Horticulture from Texas A&M University in 1973. Dr. McEachern is a Member of the Graduate Faculty of Texas A&M University, and can serve as a Chair, Co-chair or Member of Graduate Student Advisory Committees. He has been a Member since March 1979.
Dr. McEachern's areas of research include commercial orchard management, chemical weed control, propagation, intensive orchard establishment, variety and rootstock evaluation and fruit quality evaluation.
"First and foremost is that students learn and graduate; they should provide honesty, hard work, imagination, cooperativeness, team work, commitment to schedule, and ability to complete projects. I will give them opportunities and support."
