Fusarium Stalk Rot caused by the fungus Fusarium moniliforme greatly damages corn as both ear and stalk rots. The illustration shows the pink discoloration of the rotted stalk, which frequently is a symptom of this disease on both the ear and stalk. The fungus survives on or within corn kernels and on the debris of corn and many grass-type crops and weeds. |
