Manures vary greatly in their nutrient content. The kind of feed used, the percentage and type of litter or bedding, the moisture content, and the age and degree of rotting or drying all modify the composition. In the case of the commercially dried pulverized manures, some nitrogen is lost in the process. The following data are representative analyses from widely scattered reports.
