Transplanting a small tomato seedling, being careful to handle the seedling by the leaf rather than the stem and using a wooden stick or pencil as a dibble to first make a hole. Later it is used to firm the soil around the root system. Remember, if you handle the stem and damage it, the plant will be stunted.
