Precision Ag Expo
Scheduled for June 7th in Corpus Christi, Texas

Farmers, extension agents, agribusiness representatives, crop consultants and others involved in crop production, should be marking their calendars and making plans to attend the Precision Ag Expo sponsored by the nonprofit association Texas Plant Protection Association (TPPA). This day long Expo will be at the Texas A&M University Research and Extension Center in Corpus Christi.

At the Expo farmers and those that work with farmers will learn the latest information on how precision ag technology can increase their profits and/ or reduce their risk. Farmers will have the opportunity to talk with the experts as well as leading farmers that are using precision ag in their operations. The Expo will include an opportunity to observe precision ag equipment in the field. The expo begins at 8:30 am on June 7 and will conclude around 4:00 pm. Lunch is included in the registration fee.

Co-Sponsors of the Precision Ag Expo are: South Texas Cotton and Grain Association, Lower Rio Grande Valley Cotton & Grain Association, Texas Agriculture – Publication of the Texas Farm Bureau, Texas Cooperative Extension, Texas Agricultural Experiment Station and Texas A&M University - Kingsville.

Expo presentations will include:

Guidance Systems – Industry experts and local farmer

Utilizing Yield Mapping Data – Dr. David Waits, President and CEO of SST Development Group, Inc.

Maximizing Soil Variable – Dr. Subbarao Yarlagadda, National Agronomist with Helena Chemical Co.

Variable Rate Technology – Kenneth Hood, farmer and owner of InTime, Inc.

Role of Crop Consultants in Precision Ag – Roger Carter, CEO, Agricultural Management Services, Inc.

“Putting All the Information Together to Increase Profits” – Jerry Brighthill, farmer from Plainview, Texas
