2001 Statewide Watermelon Trial Summary

The 2001 Texas Cooperative Extension / Texas A&M University Statewide watermelon trial consisted of 18 hybrid entries and 20 seedless entries. As with past trials, the evaluations were conducted on drip-irrigated, black-plastic mulched raised beds. Each of the entries was randomly replicated three times per location. Similar trial locations, as in 2000, were utilized except in the Wintergarden where the Crystal City location was replaced with one in the LaPryor area.
