Whoa! Tomato hybrid debuted at the Texas Show.

From an article provided by David Drews, Tech Rep for Harris Moran Seed Company

Amelia, a new hybrid tomato variety, made an exclusive and short-term appearance at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo earlier this year. Amelia is a new release from Harris Moran Seed Company. The “buxom” hybrid is the result of two years of work. It is naturally resistant to Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV), and will normally yield three-and-a-half inch fruit.

According to Dr. Jerry Parsons, Professor and Horticulture Specialist with Texas Cooperative Extension, “Amelia produces some of the largest fruit we’ve seen.” Parsons speculates that the size of Amelia’s fruit may be too large for commercial production, but believes it should be “perfect for the home garden.”!
