Downy MildewPseudoperonospora cubensis
Symptoms:
Foliar symptoms begin with yellowish spotting, that eventually turns brown. A white to brown "fuzzy" mat of fungal mycelia occurs on the underneath leaf surface beneath each of the spots. Severely infected plants eventually lose their leaves and die.Control:
Use resistant varieties and monitor leaf wetness to time fungicide sprays. Warm temperatures and wet leaves result in rapid disease spread.See also the Texas Plant Disease Handbook.
