Symptoms:
Cabbage looper larvae eat lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, spinach and related cole crops. Heads are riddled with holes and insect droppings and "frass" from feeding make the products unmarketable. Larvae germinate from eggs laid by brownish colored moth.See also the Extension Entomology Insect Answers.

Consult the COMMERCIAL or HOME GARDEN version of the current guide for controlling insects on vegetables for labelled chemicals and rates. This pest is also being managed by BT sprays or genetically engineered crops that have been altered to produce BT toxin.
