BLOOMING TREES

Trees are the most important element in our landscape. Research must be done before selection to determine their mature size and growth needs. Locate trees to maximize their beauty and also the shade they provide to your yard. Shade on your home can reduce the temperature inside the house by 20 degrees or more. Deciduous trees can also warm your home in the winter by allowing the sun to shine on your home.

Blooming trees can add beauty many different times of the year. For spring blooming select the Redbud, Dogwood, or Saucer Magnolia. In the summer the Crepe Myrtle provides season long beauty. Fall bloomers are the Goldenraintree or Loquat. Leaves of many trees also provide gorgeous yellows, reds and oranges to mix with the green leaves each fall. Colorful fall foliage is provided by Red oaks, Chinese Pistache and maples, such as Japanese and Shantung maples, especially the variety called 'Fire Dragon'. Berries of trees such as the Yaupon and Possumhaw hollies provide winter color as well as food for the birds.

We love our trees for the beauty and usefulness they provide to our landscape.
