USING COLOR, TEXTURE AND SHAPE You can grow a living picture in your garden. All pictures need interest, and creating interest is easy when you have in your hands plants that can provide masses of color, different textures, and shapes. You can create bold groups of color in one area and quiet groups in another area. Large plants can form a great background for the other groups of medium-sized plants, and small plants can be placed in front.
All of these will be needed to complete the picture that any artist would have difficulty in duplicating. Every painting needs a focal point, and it is easy to create one by using plants that you can place where you want them. The entire area can be bold with color and size of the plants or quiet with delicate color and small plants. Whatever you want to portray with your garden, the opportunities are there for you to explore.
